Eugene Podokshik, aka “E-Pod,” has transformed the company from a general insurance broker to a specialist insurance provider for a select group of industries. Podokshik has redefined the way commercial insurance brokerage services are delivered, with a focus on technology, automation and the addition of legal expertise in the insurance procurement process, what FFB refers to as “The game changer in insurance procurement.”® Under Podokshik’s leadership, FFB created international partnerships, opened offices in Europe and South America, and now also operates numerous online insurance platforms.
Podokshik’s vision evolved during the last two decades as he moved rapidly up the ranks in the industry working for two national brokers. Most recently Podokshik was as Executive Vice President for a national insurance brokerage where he oversaw product development, insurance due diligence, program placement and portfolio aggregation for private equity firms.
Mr. Montimurro is Executive Vice President of First Fidelity Brokerage, Inc. He is a licensed Property and Casualty Insurance broker with 38 years of professional experience in the industry.
Prior to joining FFB, Mr. Montimurro had been with Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc. for 29 years, serving in management and production positions in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, as well as four years with Marsh & McLennan’s Agency Group and USI. Previous to that, he was a producer and manager with the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Mr. Montimurro was a member of the Education and Public Entity divisions of these national firms and specializes in the management and servicing of major accounts in the areas of colleges and universities, public entities and institutions, religious and not-for-profit organizations, and large commercial accounts, with an emphasis on alternative market, self-insurance, and risk management products and concepts, as well as traditional insurance programs.
He has guest lectured on risk management at Cornell University, Ithaca College, and College of Southern Maryland and has addressed such groups as Upstate New York RIMS, Fairfield/Westchester RIMS, as well as industry and trade associations.
Mr. Montimurro is a graduate of New York University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
He served with the United States Army and is the recipient of several awards for his service in Vietnam, including the Soldier’s Medal, two Bronze Star Medals, the Air Medal, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. In 2010 he was elected to Connecticut’s U.S. Army Freedom Team.
Mr. Montimurro resides with his family in Stamford, CT. He is a history enthusiast, an ardent trumpet player, and enjoys golf and model trains.
Yefim “Jeff” Podokshik founded FFB in 1994 as a personal lines agency in Queens, NY. Today Jeff serves the company as Chief Operating Officer while also personally overseeing a select group of clients.
Podokshik earned a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Belorus Technical University and an Associate Degree from TCI College of Technology in New York. He was a semi-professional boxer, and is an avid skier and outdoorsman. He and his wife live in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. They have two children and four grandchildren.
William McNeil, Senior Vice President oversees new business production in the State of Florida. Mr McNeil is a licensed Property and Casualty Insurance Broker with 27 years of professional experience in the industry. Prior to joining FFB, Mr McNeil had been with Marsh & McLennan Agency for 8 years and with Wachovia Insurance for 4 years serving in production positions. Prior to that he was a Vice President with Bouchard Insurance in Clearwater Florida for 10 years. McNeil is a member of the ICSC and has spoken at many events focusing on Risk Management in the Commercial Real Estate business.
Mr McNeil graduated from the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport Connecticut with a Business degree where he also played Varsity Baseball. He has been a leader of the Pinellas County Toys For Tots charity and was named top contributor to the organization. He has also been a volunteer Ice Hockey Travel Coach with several Championship teams. Mr McNeil resides with his family in Tarpon Springs Florida.
Anthony Coleman is the Claims Director at First Fidelity Brokerage. Mr. Coleman oversees FFB’s claim department and works to ensure every client’s claim is handled efficiently with an eye towards an optimum result for the client. Mr. Coleman believes communication and customer service are the the corner stones to effective claim handling.
Mr. Coleman has over twenty years of experience handling auto, general liability and first party property claims with national carriers and a boutique managing general agent. Mr. Coleman has handed claims as well as managed a claim department during his distinguished career.
Mr. Coleman has a master’s degree from Seton Hall University. He wrote a thesis on win-win negotiation. Mr. Coleman resides with his family in Bloomfield, NJ. He enjoys sports, traveling and playing golf.
Ilya Ilyayev is Director of Marketing and Technology at First Fidelity Brokerage. Mr. Ilyayev is responsible for the overall technology systems and processes for the company and leads and manages the digital marketing efforts for the various online platforms. Mr. Ilyayev is also a licensed insurance producer.
Mr. Ilyayev has over 19 years of technology and online marketing experience, having held various senior roles at several national companies. Most recently, Mr. Ilyayev served as Vice President at Advanced Solutions Center where he continues to serve on the board of directors.
Marat Kogan is Senior Vice President and Director of Coverage Placement at First Fidelity Brokerage. Mr. Kogan oversees the FFB marketing team and is directly involved with structure and placement of insurance programs.
Kogan has almost two decades of insurance placement experience, with previous tenures with national and boutique insurance brokers.
Kogan is a graduate of St. John’s University, The Peter J. Tobin College of Business with a BBA in Risk Management & Actuarial Science. Kogan also received the ACSRC designation – Accredited Customer Service Representative in Commercial Lines, Designation, Accredited Customer Service Representative in Commercial Lines.
Brett Baker is the Managing Director, Education at First Fidelity Brokerage. Mr. Baker oversees the FFB K-12 education team and works to ensure education clients receive best in class customer service and support, providing a proactive approach to school risk and emergency management.
Mr. Baker joins FFB with 9 years of school experience having taught for 2 years. Following his classroom career, Mr. Baker worked in school operations for 7 years, helping found an elementary charter school in Newark, NJ where he led the school’s growth and all aspects of non-instructional work for 5 years. He then went on to help lead the planning for the growth and expansion of a charter school in Denver, CO before returning to the east coast to serve as the Chief Operating Officer for a network of schools in Brooklyn, NY.
Mr. Baker is a graduate of Michigan State University, with a degree in Public Administration and Public Policy. He resides with his family in Edison, NJ. He has played the piano for over 20 years and enjoys playing it in his down time. He also enjoys college football and basketball, scuba diving, and traveling.
Rotha Maddox is the Director of Products at ToughComp (www.ToughComp.com), a division of First Fidelity Brokerage. Ms. Maddox manages the PEO (Professional Employee Organization) placement and the Workers Compensation Premium Recovery Audits teams.
With 30 years of experience, Ms. Maddox held various management and sales roles at several leading broadcasting companies including CBS, ABC, and NBC.
Ms. Maddox is an avid reader and an aficionado with cross word puzzles. She is also a two term board member at TransOptions, a non-profit transportation group.
Meri Gorenova is Country Manager and Service Director at First Fidelity Brokerage where she leads the FFB service team responsible for much of the back office administration in Strumica, Macedonia. Ms. Gorenova’s oversight includes support, data management, underwriting compilations, and management of various systems that allows FFB to function seamlessly.
A graduate of Neofit Risliki in Bulgaria, Ms. Gorenova proficiently speaks multiple languages.
Alex Novoselski is Associate Country Manager and Associate Director at First Fidelity Brokerage. Mr. Novoselski’s team provides FFB brokers with support services including underwriting, program marketing, claims and exposure analysis, policy administration and data management.
Mr. Novoselski graduated European University with a BBA in Banking and Financial Support Services.
Isabella Caicedo Mosquera is Country Manger and Service Director of First Fidelity Brokerage in Bogota, Columbia. Ms. Caicedo’s team supports underwriting, quote and proposal preparations, delivery of binders, invoices and policies, meeting subjectivity requirements, issuance of certificate of insurances, preparation of renewal solicitations and numerous other client facing support services.
A graduate of Unversidad de Los Andes with a degree in Economics, Ms. Caicedo is a licensed insurance broker in the State of New York.
